Roland's Cube

During the last week of July and first week of August we presented GollyGee Blocks training sessions to Information Technology Resource Teachers (ITRTs) sponsored by the Virginia Department of Education. The summer camps were held in two sessions, one at Radford High School in Radford VA, and the second at Lafayette Upper Elem School in Fredericksburg, VA. The sessions consisted of activities with GollyGee Blocks that demonstrate the constructivist approach in education. We started with fairly easy problem-solving tasks progressing to some more difficult ones, all of which help to demonstrate the functions in the application. We also showed a set of sample lesson plans from our Activity Guide (Teacher's Guide) along with correlations to the VA Standards of Learning. Finally we briefly discussed how to do animations and showed sample student work to attendees.
