I'm attending Where 2.0 this week for my day job. It's a conference focused on location technology such as GPS and mapping systems and the web. I gave a talk tonight on some work I do for SAIC, where we've built a system using laser range scanners on top of a car to create 3D maps. It went quite well.
I'm also very interested in GPS use in education. Our GollyGee Town product has some elements of this with the GGPS ("GollyGee Positioning System"), a little map display shown in the corner when you enter first person mode in the town viewer. But that's all virtual and I think there's a lot of neat stuff to do with real life GPS. Maybe there's a product in there somewhere.
